Oh The Places You’ll Go

March 14, 2010

Hello everyone! How are the Saturdays going? Peanut Butter sales were good today! I started the day with a modified version of frozen protein custard.

Love!

I have a new neighbor at the Farmers’ Market!

Anna Mae’s Homemade Jam! I got the unsweetened sour cherry and I think I’m in love.

It went so well with chocolate peanut butter, and I can’t wait to try it with ‘cacao bliss’.

She grows most of the fruit herself over the summer, and what she doesn’t grow she gets from local orchards. 🙂 Yay for locavores!

Aw girl 😦 I’m so sorry you are stressed out!!! And wanting to get as far away as humanely possible is perfectly normal. I feel the same way a lot. And don’t stress out TOO much about the college thing because girl, you just never know what will happen. I mean, look at me, when I finally graduate from culinary school in like 3 years I will have been through 3 schools and 3 majors. Everything will work out in the end. Just follow your heart, let it be your guide, and you won’t go wrong 🙂

My favorite jam is strawberry!! I love to branch out but I always come back 🙂

I love cherry butta! It goes so well on greek yogurt with chocolate chips

Hang in there, Mae 🙂 It’ll all be over soon, and you will lovve college – promise! It’s a great change from high school. And it makes you appreciate home, I think.

I would be dangerous working next to someone who sold such delicious looking jams!! I am a jam FIEND – i want to try them ALL! haha. My recent favorites are strawberry-pomegranate and blueberry-cherry. Unsweetened sour cherry sounds amazing! I really want to try fig and date, too. And I have ginger that’s waiting to be opened 🙂 Actually – I have quite a few waiting to be opened…*insert sheepish grin here* haha.
Have a great night – it’s the weekend, no stress allowed! Enjoy your Sunday 🙂

    MMMMmmm to sour cherry spread!

Mae, I felt the same way when I was choosing my undergrad….and my graduate school. You’ll figure it out! Plus, I know you’re totally going to blossom when you get to college.

Ugh, I remember senioritis! I know everyone says this and it sounds so cliche, but honestly, enjoy these last few months. I couldn’t wait to get out of here my senior year, and now I can’t wait to come home for breaks! Good luck with those acceptances 🙂

My favorite jam is Crofter’s Superfood. I just tried it the other day, and have been eating spoonfuls from the jar!

MAE–I am basically feeling exactly the same! High school is getting way too small for me!

I keep thinking of how restictive school is and how many more opportunities I’ll have at college: amazing fitness centers, college towns, libraries open all the time, more dining hall options…..

Once again, good luck with NC State and Cornell…I have my fingers crossed for you. Everyone tells us that things will work out fine in the end and it’s hard to believe now!

Further, I think that college will seem far enough wherever you go because you’ll be engrossed in this entirely new world on campus.

I’m just going to try and enjoy my senior spring, the last time I’ll be together with my friends before we scatter throughout the country (and maybe the world).

Don’t stress too much! Enjoy the fact that you GET to make a decision and that you WILL be leaving. I hear you though. I’ve been in grad school in the same place for about 5 years now, and I am ready to be done and moving on!

By the way, I just clicked on the Saratoga link and am trying to decide what to get…what are your favorites?

  9. March 14, 2010 10:25 am

I LOVE sour cherry jam! My dad just actually gave me a jar today that he ordered from our favorite place in Michigan. I like peach, too. 🙂

  10. March 14, 2010 11:35 am

aww dont stress girl! i promise you will end up where you belong!! love you! prayers your way!

  11. March 14, 2010 5:20 pm

Not selfish, M. This is your time to decide where you think you’d like your life to take you — and even then, remember you’re never locked into one idea. Things change, so don’t get scared. Get excited! You are full of promise.

Aww I felt the same way after high school. But after taking some time off before college and talking to my friends who are in school now, I realized that no matter where you go will feel worlds away from high school and home. You’re almost there!

Unsweetened cherry jam sounds awesome, jams can be too sweet sometimes.

you do not sound like a spoiled brat – i think getting away from home is exactly what some people need to be one hundred percent content and flourish.

    I’m having the same feelings!

  14. March 14, 2010 10:54 pm

Don’t stress my friend, it will only make your headache worse. 😦 Hope you’re feeling better today Mae!

Next Fall will be here before you know it and so many new adventures await you. Everything is going to fall into place, and I cannot wait to read about all of your college adventures.

Happy Sunday Mae – now go eat a corn cake with some sour cherry spread. 🙂
