Chopped, Blog Edition

March 19, 2010

I’ve been thinking about the show “Chopped” lately. The premise is four chefs are given a basket of ingredients and they must use all items to create a dish, either in the appetizer round, entree round or dessert round. They’re usually interesting combinations, like grapes, soy sauce and nori.

I think it would be really fun to do a blog chopped.

Here are my ideas:

  • 2-3 ingredients every week, you must use each of the ingredients in your dish!
  • Unlimited entries
  • Post it on your blog and email me, or just send me the email and I’ll get it posted up
  • On the challenge blog, people leave a comment with their vote.
  • Each voter can only comment once each day
  • Entries are welcome all week, first round will go up Wednesday night, second round Friday night. Saturday and Sunday entries will go up, but have less of a chance
  • The top 2-3 winners each pick an ingredient to add to the “basket” for next week.
  • The ultimate winner gets something…I’m not sure what yet!

So, is there interest in the blog world? Let me know!

It would be all for fun, no pressure and I think would spark some creativity! 🙂

Oh, and separate topic: What are the thoughts on P90X? Some of my friends are doing it and it sounds like fun. Is it worth the money?

I love the idea of the challenge.

As for P90X I did it for a month and a half before our wedding. It definitely works. As in I needed help getting my wedding gown zipped before and after they had to take two inches out. With that said I don’t really like to recommend it to people. It works because it is a solid hour and a half of INTENSE workouts 6 days a week. I don’t really think it is maintainable or feasible to stick with it. Not to mention once the 3 months are over your body wants to get back to normal. I DO however think it’s great if you are looking for a good workout to do a few days a week or when you don’t feel like going to the gym. I’ve heard that some of the other Beach Body workouts are a little more maintainable. Hope this helps!
